Wood ducks at Peaceful Waters

Visited Peaceful Waters Saturday 3/13/21, and the wood ducks are back. Last spring to summer, there were 6-10 different nesting pairs there with lots of ducklings in early summer and it looks like they'll be breeding there again - at least two pair so far have been hanging around Saturday. Still present are some American wigeons which have been there since early December, and various shorebirds - lesser yellowlegs, solitary and spotted sandpipers. Painted buntings have also been prominent along the northern levee by the fenced ponds.
