A.D. Barnes continues to showcase some good birds. Just before noon we had a Western Tanager in the oak and fig trees on the northwest side of Homeless Hammock...right where the walking path heads south along the side of the hammock. It was seen for 5-10 minutes and then lost in the many trees. I was able to get this identifiable shot. Hopefully it sticks around!

First Canada Warbler, now this? I think we need to get out together... Bar-tailed Godwin at Crandon?
Credit to Joe Barros for first seeing the bird and for Smith Juan helping to track it through the trees! Let's make that Bar-tailed Godwit happen.
Great find and ID shot. I already put it on the rare bird alert.
Rock and I saw the Western today between 1 and 2 if anyone is still looking for it. It was in the Trema both outside Homeless Hammock on the north side and on the north side of the interior path.
