Approximately 15 birders met at AD Barnes Park this morning for the first local walk of the season, including a few on their first TAS walks. The weather was muggy, it's early in migration, but there was enough activity to keep everyone's attention. We had 6 species of warbler, a handful of Red-eyed Vireos, an immature Spot-breasted Oriole that gave good if brief looks to everyone, and a Chuck-will's-widow that flushed up at least 4 times, so everyone could get at least a glimpse of it flying through the trees. I was even able to pick up a new park bird for me--a Bank Swallow that Stephen Paez and I got on as it flew over the LAC buildings. The day was convivial, and ended at a reasonable 10am with 26 species. Thanks, everyone! The list:
