TAS C-357 Sparrow Field Walk, 12/8/18
Twelve birders joined me for this morning's TAS walk at the C-357 Sparrow Fields in the East Everglades. Virtually all of the water that had been in the impoundments the past few weeks has disappeared, so we didn't see a single duck. Sparrows were also scarce; only Grasshopper, Savannah and Eastern Towhee. A flock of American Goldfinch circled over us, my first of the season. John Hutchison reported hearing a Dickcissel calling, but never saw it. Here's what was tallied, either by me or by participants (let me know if I missed anything):

Is there access to Sparrow Fields for the general public? Where would parking be allowed?
To access the sparrow fields, park at the turnaround at the gate at the end of SW 168 Street. Walk up the berm on the other side of the gate, around the south gate on top of the berm, then walk south on the berm about 0.5 miles to the first impoundment.
