Surf Scoters on Crandon Beach

Lots of sea duck flocks heading south. Most of them were Mergansers but occasionally I would see a few scoters that were too far out to identify. Fortunately, two Surf Scoters (male and female) flew by very close to shore more than enough to get a positive ID.

There was also a steady stream of gannets offshore, they were barely close enough to make out black wingtips and distinctive flight pattern.
