Rufous Hummingbird Castellow Hammock

I was able to get better photos of the Rufous Hummingbird from Castellow Hammock County Park. With the help of Robin D. and Sue H., we have determined that this bird is most likely a female Rufous Hummingbird. There was a second bird when I first reported two birds present. I have not seen the second bird again, perhaps it got chased off. The second bird appeared to be an immature male. I am sure that at least the female will stay through the winter, perhaps the male is still present. There are several Ruby-throated Hummingbirds here as well.

Saw a male at 64 Ave and 70 St Wednesday nectaring on Firespike. Very bright fiery orange on overcast morning. Never saw one before.

Nice pics!

Also saw yellow billed cuckoo same location.

Tom, is that an area that birders can come look for the bird?

Its my property with a bunch of overgrown native plantings including firebush and firespike. Sure, you can come look for the bird. I've been out for hours last days and have only seen the one ruby throated male and two females since that one quick sighting.
