Roseate terns

Are the Roseate Terns that were reported a few weeks ago near the government building in Marathon residents or migrants there? I am visiting my daughter in Miami soon and would like to drive to Marathon to look for them. If the terns are there, generally where should I look? Thanks...

Small numbers of Roseate Terns, along with larger numbers of Least Terns, nest during the summer months on the roof of the Marathon Government Center at MM 48.5 on the north side of US 1. If you don't see them circling over the building, go around to the back of the building; they often can be seen on the pier that's visible to the left once you reach the shoreline.

Brian,

Thanks for the tip... Is this actually in Marathon? Near the Marathon Airport?
When is the latest in the summer to come see these guys?

Thanks

According to eBird data, the latest date that Roseate Terns have been reported at Marathon Government Center was August 9. This location is at the western end of Marathon, about 1.5 miles east of the Seven Mile Bridge.
