Red-masked parakeets and red-breasted parakeet

Staying at the Sonesta Hotel during my week here in Miami, I observed a flock of 15-20 red-masked parakeets fly into an orange-blossomed tree and noticed a single bird unlike the rest. Upon closer inspection, this parakeet had a striking red bill, gray to blue gray crown with black thicker collar (did not extend around the neck) and a black stripe above the eyes. Appeared to most closely resemble a red-breasted parakeet. Also saw 5-8 orange-winged parrots this morning at Fuchs Park.

Thanks Kurt. Wasn't sure of what variety this bird was.

In the pet trade, Red-breasted Parakeet and Moustached Parakeet are interchangeable names, depending on subspecies. This is a nice sighting of another exotic parakeet on Key Biscayne. Rose-ringed Parakeet also shows up from time-to-time around the Bear Cut area in north Crandon Park.

Appreciate your insight Robin. In reviewing Red-breasted parakeet, I came across a number of other "substituted" names. To clarify the location, the Sonesta Hotel is in Coconut Grove adjacent to Peacock Park. Looking for any active parrot roosting locations in and around the Miami area.
