Odd yard bird

We have regular White Ibis on our street, occasional Great Egrets for lizards, but this is a grassy, open with a few bushes neighborhood two blocks from any water in Boca. So I was surprised to see a Yellow-crowned Night heron walk down the sidewalk. Any thoughts on what might make this bird stray from normal?

I've seen YCNH forage on golf courses in the evening. I've also seen land crabs pretty far from any water in Boca. I think they can forage for terrestrial prey similar to Great Egrets.
