North American Breeding Bird Survey, Everglades National Park

This morning, I completed my annual North American Breeding Bird Survey in Everglades National Park, a 25-mile route along the main park road from Flamingo to near Pay-hay-okee. As usual, mosquito levels ranged from unbearable for the first couple of stops to tolerable, then nonexistent for the rest of the morning. Here are the birds I encountered (heard or seen) during the survey:

Where did you find the WC Pigeons? I still do not have it for "mainland" Florida - only from the Keys.

Nine Mile Pond is a good place to look for them; they often perch at the tops of trees around the pond. This species can also be found right in Miami, in county parks such as A D Barnes, Matheson Hammock and Kendall Indian Hammocks.
