New Crossley bird guide

I just received my 2 copies of The Crossley Waterfowl Guide and it is dynamic! As with all good field guides, the beginning text is worth the price of the book. Bonus plates include “Mystery” pages with various waterfowl families presented flying or sitting. Another bonus is the pocket-sized laminated fold-out. South Florida birders will see that Egyptian Goose is included, called “… ferocious, or almost goofy…”

I slowly embraced this style of field guide and perhaps this deliberation made me a solid advocate. This new volume stands proudly next to its siblings Crossley: Eastern Birds and Crossley: Raptors, its cousin The Shorebird Guide and its good friends The Warbler Guide and Peterson Reference Guide to Seawatching. Kudos to all of these authors!
