Need help identifying water bird

Hello,
New to birding in South Florida (started the weekend of the Backyard Bird Count on 2/15) and have been unable to identify a species I saw wading in a nature preserve (Sheridan Street Mitigation Bank) in Pembroke Pines, next to the Everglades. Have a short video clip with the bird calling out.
My guess is it’s a coot but the sound doesn’t match up with Merlin.
Any help is appreciated.
