I thought I was looking at a black and white for 5 minutes yesterday. It was up high in a giant Ficus in my neighbor's yard. I didn't have binoculars, and it kept moving around the tree but I couldn't get a good look at it. Turned out to be a downy woodpecker. I don't think I've seen one of those in Broward in 10 years. It seems like the hawk invasion is over. Red-bellied woodpeckers, which I've been missing for a long time, I hear everyday. I saw a strike at my farm last week. Another bird missing for a decade. This is good

JLSP in Parkland? I checked TAS's and Broward's list of parks and can't find one starting with J. Where is this, please?

probably a reference to the old name: john lloyd state park in Dania--south end of port everglades

JLSP refers to John Lloyd SP the Old name for Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson SP which is in Dania Beach.
To update migration they reported Today more Sanderlings, Semipalmated Plovers and a juvenile Wilson Plover (D. Lagan)

Thanks. Paddy told me that might be a good place for me to learn shorebirds.

I will be checking the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson SP (JLSP) beaches for shorebirds on Sat morning.
