Mangrove Cuckoo @ Deering Estate 9/11/15

After several discussions with Larry Manfredi on this topic, I finally saw my first MACU at Deering. Oddly enough it was foraging in the open in a Strangler Fig above the dumpsters. Right after a Common Nighthawk flew over heading south and 2 Red-eyed Vireos popped into the tree. It's Mississippi Kite time!

I went back out in the afternoon to try and relocate the cuckoo but did not have any luck. I did come across 6 warbler species (all expected):

Ovenbird
Worm-eating Warbler
Northern Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Prairie Warbler

As I got to my car to leave I had a flock of ~13 Gray Kingbirds flying SE over the visitor center parking lot. Pretty neat sight!
