Loop Road 4/14/18

Spent a nice morning out on Loop Road. Not much in the way of migrants - Northern Waterthrush, Redstart, BT Blue, B&W Warblers - but a Prothonotary Warbler was on territory and singing, chasing away Parulas. A Red-eyed Vireo was in the usual breeding locale, but was only giving partial songs. 2 (or maybe 3) Barred Owls were booming out their calls at mid-morning. There were also more waders in Big Cypress than I've seen in a long time, especially spoonbills and BC Night-Herons, and more waders at Sweetwater Strand than I can ever remember.
On the way home, a Snail Kite was hunting along the roadside canal a couple of miles east of Shark Valley.
