I recall a Brewster's at Birch with Wally George and the group around that time. We were on our way out ,back to the gatehouse.I had lagged behind to trsck down a calling Black-throated Green around the main intersection. I caught up to the group at the entrance to the maintenance yard to share my sighting.Wally said "hey Judd we just had a Brewster's."Long story short .most people saw the BTG.I missed out on the Brewster's.birder's luck...LOL

Yes, I remember that! It was during the weekly Saturday morning meeting of the Birch Park Philosophical Society convened by Wally. As I recall, we paid homage to St. Pauli Girl afterwards.

Good times and good birds were had by the BPPS. Thought of Wally and "The Group" when I saw the bird .I got the phrase "birder shock " from Wally.I had my camera , but the voice in my head was telling me " field marks ! get the field marks.!! " Even though it is a pretty unmistakable bird .
