Lapland Longspur along Loop Road 10/29/16

Saw this posted earlier by Brian Rapoza,

"John Boyd photographed a Lapland Longspur this afternoon on Loop Road in Big Cypress National Preserve. The exact location is at 25 44' 48" N, 80 57' 15" W."

There was one on Research Road in 2004 right around this date. Coincidence? I think it has to do with the fact that the first cold fronts are moving through most of the U.S. Even though we don't get much cold weather down here yet, birds that are on the move get pushed a little further than normal. Late Oct and early Nov are really good months to catch birds on the move that overshoot south. For example, Northern Fulmar is EXTREMELY rare this far south, but there have been a couple of records in Florida in October, mostly specimens that end up on some beach.
