Preliminary results for the Global Big Day on Saturday, May 9 show 5,668 species reported by 11,948 observers across 36,568 checklists from 119 countries. Of course, there may still be more reports, as editors continue the review process for rare area species. Results can be seen using the URL link.
Thanks to Mike and Wendy's Red-whiskered Bulbul. If anyone saw a Spot-breasted Oriole on Saturday and you have an eBird account, it's not too late to enter it.

Now: 5758 species, 38,317 checklists and 12,351 observers.
1,500+ birds over the goal for the day. It's great to see such an epic amount of effort by the public. Of course I only had a six warbler day and not a single one was a Connecticut :/
Was this the first Global Big Day?
Rangel I had your Connecticut in Broward at Richardson Park, even got a pic.
