This morning there was a flock of 15-25 goldfinches feeding on the cones of an Australian Pine in the wetlands of west Miramar. I last saw flocks here in 2005-6, Maybe a 10 year cycle?

Nice! I wonder if they visit anyone's feeder down south?
What are the wetlands of West miramar? I live in pines west of i75
It is the mitigation/water conservation area west of the SW 196th Ave canal along the unpaved portion of SW196th Ave/Miramar Parkway extension. Although under SFWMD jurisdiction and not posted (no motorized vehicles, firearms, camping) access is only via private property. As a resident of Sunset Lakes I can access via Association common ground.

Just saw a bright yellow Goldfinch in my neighborhood in Boca Raton. Heard it in a very tall Norway Spruce then it flew to another neighbors’ dried out sunflowers, then flew off to another hardwood tree. Nice!!!
Is not anyway to access this place? Now with this virus I'm looking for isolated places to hike and birding!
