First of season birds at Green Cay Wetlands - catbirds, buntings, warblers, gnatcatchers

This Saturday at Green Cay Wetlands, which has been pretty dead through the summer with just the regular summer wading birds hanging around...there were finally signs of life with some of the fall/winter birds starting to populate. Numerous blue-grey gnatcatchers were there, yellow-throated warblers popping up, what sounded like a half-a-dozen catbirds calling in the south tree canopy, two painted buntings at the chickee hut feeders, and even what appeared to be an American redstart, which would be a bit earlier than I usually see them. Belted kingfishers (2) were also actively fishing in the main lake, and I haven't seen or heard them in months.
