ENP: Brown Crested Flycatchers and Hooded Mergansers
Early today (12/2) on a pre-scouting trip to ENP, I only covered Research Road before the nasty weather moved in. Two Brown-crested Flycatchers are at their favorite winter locations: One bird was .1 mile after the turn-off from Royal Palm Road toward Beard and Robertson Centers and the second bird was at the east terminus of Research Road. Both birds vocalized periodically with standard "whip" calls but they stayed mainly in mid-level thick vegetation.
Farther west on Research Road, I found 2 Hooded Mergansers in a small solution hole near the Daniel Beard Center. Strange location!

Make that Brown-crested Flycatchers
We had a small flock of Hooded Mergansers in that area on a TAS ENP trip last year.
