Cutler Wetlands 1/4 - The Ducks Awaken
Forty-five minutes of birding yielded 25 species (would have been 26 but couldn't tell which yellowlegs because of the dying light) in the CW. Duck numbers were high: Mottled Duck (25), Blue-winged Teal (10), Green-winged Teal (3), Gadwall (1), American Wigeon (2).
Didn't see the Northern Pintail but I probably missed it due to the low light. Will try for it again tomorrow. Lots of waders and two American Bitterns chasing each other was a real treat. The Northern Shovelers I had last month were not there; wonder if they're in one of the Dump Marsh ponds.
I'm wondering if anyone has swung by Graham Dairy Lake up north; Angel and Mariel?
I really need to get my scope fixed! Below is a link to the eBird report.

Hey RJ,
We visit every two days or so. It's been a slow year for the lake thus far. Only L. Scaup, Ring-necked Duck and one lone Ruddy Duck. Hoping that some new birds make it down.

Hi RJ. Your post title is quite appropriate for this winter, as at Flamingo this weekend we came across a Kylo Wren.
