Earlier this year TAS birders discovered a pair of nesting Cooper's Hawks. I won't say where, because of the risk of poaching, but many of you know. This video is about these birds and their chicks. The film is set in a fictitious forest (thus the many non-South Florida bird sounds),
but the hawks are all ours. If you look at just about any range map for Cooper's Hawk, you will see that they are not supposed to breed here.
In recent years, they have turned that idea completely on it's head, thanks in large part to the Eurasian Collared Dove. In fact nationwide,
urban Cooper's Hawks do twice as well as their country cousins, largely feasting on doves. Please enjoy, and your comments are especially
