Connecticut Warbler- My Backyard
This evening, while walking through my backyard, I was surprised to find a Connecticut Warbler. I initially noticed a peculiar scratching sound coming from a dense area planted with native vegetation. Then I briefly glimpsed a small warbler on the ground with a bold white eye ring. I immediately ran inside and grabbed my camera. The bird was still in the same area and I managed a few photos as it foraged for the next hour or so. Are these birds commonly seen in suburban areas during this time of year?
P.S. I have attached the eBird checklist which has a photo of the bird.

Noah, the eBird Range Map tool may help to answer your question. Here's the map for Connecticut Warbler, zoomed in for southeast Florida (http://ebird.org/ebird/map/conwar?neg=true&env.minX=&env.minY=&env.maxX=&env.maxY=&zh=false&gp=false&ev=Z&mr=1-12&bmo=1&emo=12&yr=all&byr=1900&eyr=2016).
Cool, thanks Brian!
