Black Skimmer Behavior

I was observing and photographing a colony of skimmers (at some distance) with some new hatchlings in Clearwater and suddenly saw an individual fly across the colony with a chick in its mouth. I didn’t see what became of the chick but does anyone know of this type of behavior? Do they steal each other’s chicks? Eah05@hotmail.com
