Black Scoter @ Deering Estate 1/12/15
I did a seawatch this morning from the People's Dock (free access to the public) over Biscayne Bay from 7-7:45am. At 7:20 a female type BLSC popped up from the north and swam right up to the concrete dock! It went back north but I received a text from Bill Boeringer that it returned later in the morning.
Also of interest was a small flock of American Goldfinches that flew over and over 10 Scaly-breasted Munias at the feeder on the west side of the visitor center in the parking lot. I'll attach my eBird checklist once I upload the photos of the scoter.

It's called the People's Dock because they used the bones of people to make it. It's made of people! It's people!!!
I saw it about 830 am from the People's Dock (or as Toe knows it, Soylent Dock); it was drifting back south, about 150-200 yards out from the dock.
