Twenty-two enthusiastic birders joined me today for our annual fall walk in Cape Florida. Bird numbers and diversity picked up as we walked the trails and as always, seeing birds up close from the banding station was a treat. We tallied 15 warbler species and raptor species increased as thermals developed.

Highlights: White-crowned Pigeon, Black-throated Green and Tennessee Warblers, Peregrine Falcon (either 4 birds or one bird patrolling the park), multiple Merlins, American Kestrels, Sharp-shinned, Cooper's and Short-tailed Hawks and a semi-accommodating Bobolink.
