Bird Board

Bell's Vireo by Kendall Indian Hammocks

I added 2 new birds to my KIH list. The first was a Least Flycatcher and the second was a Bell's Vireo. Both birds were seen at an abandoned nursery just west of the park. If you head into the park from SW 117 Ave going east on SW 79 St, make a right at the stop sign SW 114 Ave. Half a block on the right. The area is partly fenced and looks very abandoned. There are many Common Yellowthroats in the lot which kind of look like the vireo but the vireo has wingbars, one stronger than the other. All pale yellow bellow. Long-tailed for a vireo and actively fed. Bill thicker. The flycatcher had a soft repetitive whit call and very noticeable eyering with short bill.
