A.D. Barnes and Kendall Indian Hammocks Migration (8/26)

Warblers and friends really arrived in larger numbers and diversity today. Although I did not record anything unusual, it was still nice to see the bread-and-butter early migrants in good numbers. I had time to cover two parks (AD Barnes and Kendall Indian Hammocks, both in Miami, Florida).

The migrant species composition for both were nearly identical! Kendall Indian Hammocks also had a good assortment of swallows, including Bank. Red-eyed Vireos were strangely missing in action at both sites:

A.D. Barnes Park:

Great Crested Flycatcher
Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (15)
Ovenbird (3)
Worm-eating Warbler
Northern Waterthrush
Black-and-white Warbler (3)
American Redstart (5)
Northern Parula (13)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (2)
Yellow-throated Warbler (3)
Prairie Warbler
Summer Tanager

Kendall Indian Hammocks:

Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (20)
Ovenbird
Worm-eating Warbler (2)
Black-and-white Warbler (3)
American Redstart (8)
Northern Parula (5)
Prairie Warbler (8)

Will be nice to see the numbers and diversity continue to rise in the coming weeks.

Carlos
